Discover the people and passion behind Kibera Diaries
Kibera Diaries is a community-based travel and storytelling enterprise founded in 2015 by Kibera residents who wanted to share authentic experiences of their neighborhood with the world.
What began as a small initiative to document daily life has grown into a thriving social enterprise that offers immersive tours, supports local businesses, and funds community projects through responsible tourism.
Our team of local guides, storytellers, and community leaders are deeply connected to Kibera and committed to creating meaningful exchanges between visitors and residents.
Guiding principles that drive our work
To provide authentic, respectful experiences that connect visitors with Kibera's vibrant community while generating sustainable income for local residents.
We aim to challenge stereotypes through personal encounters and storytelling that highlights Kibera's complexity, creativity, and resilience.
We envision tourism as a force for positive change in informal settlements - creating economic opportunities while fostering mutual understanding between visitors and residents.
Our goal is to become Kenya's most trusted provider of community-based tourism experiences.
